Ever since the success of the 80s television sensation, Miami Vice, where the city of Miami is a virtual character, Miami-Dade and Miami Beach have been the backdrop for several other television series. Currently, there seems to be a television boom taking place in Miami, with at least 7 prime time television shows on-air, not counting Spanish television and upcoming series like Bravo’s “Miami Social” (working title, “Fabulous People of Miami”), a show produced by Pink Sneakers, the same producers of “Brooke Knows Best”.
The following is a list and short description of just some of the shows filmed right here in
Dexter Every Sunday night at 9 p.m. on Showtime, “Dexter” is a drama about Dexter Morgan, a serial killer by night and a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Dade Police Department by day. Brooke Knows Best
On VH1, I can’t figure out the appeal to this show but I can’t look away. As a
Mondays at 8 p.m. on TruTV, This reality show follows lifeguards on South Beach as they save lives and lock up drunks, in that order.
